There is a seller on ebay claiming he has had Jerry M. inspect this car and it has a DZ engine. Says it's the only X11 z/28 made?
Sorry, but I am not buying it.
-
It's a scam.
-
yeah and my car is the only one left in the world too-show me the money ;D
-
It's a scam.
It might be a scam, but some sucker has already bid $100,000.00 on the first day!! ::)

Reserve is not met so assume it is a shill bid of 100K . He does not say Jerry looked at it. He says Jerry certified one other X11 car. Nice rear bumper guards.
-
Nice floors.
-
Nice master cylinder! :P
-
He's claiming that he has contacted Jerry to have this thing authenticated and appraised. Can't wait to here from Jerry on this one. Better yet, can't wait to see it towed onto the stage at B-J in March. ;D
-
Even if it actually is a rare X11 coded RS Z/28. (which I don't believe it is)
Without the original engine, or some paperwork = there will never be any way to prove it.
As it sits - all it will ever be, is a V8/RS, with big stripes.
I will look for his verification at the end of March. ::)
-
Besides this car not being the right color ( 65 ), wouldn't it have a mandatory tach ? It just leads me to a question, when were tachs mandatory in Z's ?
-
I just contacted the seller and asked him to remove my name, business name and license #'s from his ad. I cannot believe this seller did this. I also received about 35 unnecessary e-mails from people asking me about this car. Not what I need. Now I have to respond to all these people.

Am I reading the eBay auction description correctly in that it states that there is only one documented '69 Z28 coded X11 (not counting the car in the auction)? If so, I'm confused and must be missing something because there are a lot of cars out there where the owner claims to have an original '69 Z with the RS option. I would have assumed that some of these would have been Norwood built cars, built after the X codes came into being, and would have had X11 on the cowl tag.
-
The seller ended the auction this morning because of "an error in the listing." ???
Paul

rich69rs, all rs z-28's were coded x-33.
-
I am glad that this ended. Thanks to all who contacted me about this ad.

jerry this is jason, do i need to take pics of the rear axle assembly and send them to you or should i just post them on this site.
-
Jason,
Yes, do that and I'll take a look at them.
When posting to me, start a new thread on this forum and it will be easier for me to see your postings. Attaching them to another on-going non related thread is hard to keep up with.
Good luck with the parts chase.

No mention of Jerry MacNeish this time around! ;)
Paul
-
also, this time there is no mention of the term Z/28 either. :D
-
Car brings $46100.00 and he doesn't let it go. What do you wanna bet he got scammed on the car and now he's trying to bail himself out.
-
"From what we understand 3 of these cars were produced because of Chevrolet dealers Taking orders so late. By the time General Motors received these orders they had to utilize the x-11 body to get the cars produced. "
Pure fiction. There are plenty of X33 cars produced well after this 08D car. Nothing indicates it is a Z/28 other than the stripes and emblems. Hmmm, wonder if any of those ever got put on a plain jane car? Looking at that pile, I am amazed that: 1. He got a bid over $46k, and 2. He didn't take it!!!!
-
$20 says the $46,100 was his bid. There can't be anyone that gullible....can there?
-
Well,,,,,, some people get bid fever at some of these auction sites.
