Is there a thread or has anyone ever considered
Posting your non numbers matching engine,
transmission or 3rd member codes?
Maybe I have your motor or you have my transmission ?
Not a classified add as they are not allowed .

I think that's what the Orphans section is for. I'm on there almost daily hoping someday my engine will pop up for my 68.

Yea me too!
Seems most of what I’ve seen on orphans is
stuff for sale on eBay or craigslist , etc .

Yeah, there are a few guys on here that scour those sites finding engine blocks, trannys, etc. that have numbers in the hopes of notifying someone who may have the original car. I've seen some guys post too that they have a certain block or transmission available in the hopes that they could match it up to the original car. Definitely a nice pursuit. I posted a message on an engine block I own in case someone ever searched the numbers and found it on here.

You never know - the car that matches an L78 block I have showed up through the CRG some years back. I have a spare '68 MO Z block/engine that I tried to find the car to match, doesn't seem to exist that I can see. But the chase remains a lot of fun !

Yes, by all means, if you have an engine or transmission (or documents) that belong to a first generation Camaro, post it in the orphans section. There have been several "reunions" over the years like THIS ONE (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=13818.0;all)!

I also helped a guy that had a DZ block find the owner of he car a couple of years back. Kind of a feather in your cap, and gives you good karma, to find what your looking for... :D
