A few years ago I purchased a new old stock outside rear view mirror for my 67 RS. The problem I'm having is that it flops down in the wind when I'm driving. Does anyone have a way of tightening these mirrors. It's in great shape other than this. As far as I know the mirrors with out the bow tie are not being manufactured.
Thanks

There are two phillips screws behind the glass that will when tightened, put pressure on the ball that pivots the mirror frame. Biggest problem is getting the glass out with breaking it.
Good Luck

I was able to remove the glass from my 68 outside mirror by:
1) hold the mirror glass side up in a vise
2) fill the mirror head with lacquer thinner
3) let sit for 24 hours
4) gently pry the glass out
The lacquer thinner really softened the adhesive.

The Paragon repro mirrors are very nice......and tight and come with date codes per customer's request. I think they run about $70. Not a bad deal.

Jeff:
Nice job and very creative to say the least!! Other than waiting 24 hours to allow the liquid to work, did you have any problem scleaning it out of the mirror case and then re-installing the mirror?
