Title: One more question about BJ
Post by: maroman on February 18, 2007, 01:34:38 AM
I just saw the auction reports in OCW about the 2 '67 Z-28s at BJ. I think one was listed as No.2 condition and sold for $100K, the other was no. 1 selling at $125K.  Can anyone that was there that looked at them give a review?  How authentic were they? If you can believe a Hemi anything is worth $200K or $300K, my thoughts are these were a steal. Yea, I'd rather have a Chevy. Oh, and how about the Z-16 for $200K?

Here is a thread I posted at Yenko.net about the two Z28's I guess there were some issues with one or both of the

I flew down to Atlanta to certify these cars earlier this year.  Both are real cars.  We actually rebuilt and installed a restoratoin engine in the white car.  Lost its original engine under warrantee.  Both were older restorations but nice drivers.  Sold new in FL., Indian River Chev.

The reason they did not sell for more is neither had complete oem drive trains.  The red car has its oem engine but non oem trans and rear.  The white car had its oem trans and rear but a replacement engine.  One cool thing about the white car is it's the only white on white 67 Z28 in the national registry.  Has full set of docs too.  At $100K, the buyer still got a hell of a deal.

Thanks to both for the answers. Jerry, do you know if this the white '67 that was for sale at Hershey about 10 years ago? I believe the owner at that time was in a wheelchair. I don't remember the interior color.

No, not the same car.  This car had its original owner, Paul McGuire up unitl about 6-7 years ago.  He lives in Melbourne, FL.
