I know I just read a topic on this, but I could not find it with the search. I'm going to put my spare and my jack in my trunk, I found where it is at in the assembly manual. Difficult to picture in the trunk. I found where the top of the Jack goes up in the bracket towards the back of the seat and I have not figured out where the end goes towards the wheelhouse

Are you just looking for a pic of a spare mounted in the trunk? I can take one for you if you need it.

A picture would be good what I was wondering how far the Jack sets over towards the wheelhouse and where it ends up sitting. I found the angle piece up by the backseat and I have no idea where the end ends up on the right side by the wheelhouse.

I think I got it. Let me look at mine and see what I've got. If I remember correctly, one end of the jack rests against that angle bracket welded to the trunk floor, and the other end just sits there and is held down by the spare tire and base plate. What I do not have is the rubber sleeve which slides over the jack mast and lug wrench to hold the lug wrench in place.

That's what I was wondering is where that other end goes. I've got a couple those sleeves someplace I bought have no idea where they went

I shoved the jack forward against the wheelhouse and covered any contact area with some foam type shipping wrap I had. I did read where the tire should go against the back seat and the Wheelhouse but mine will not go that far forward without the back of the tire coming off the trunk floor. Everything is tight so we're going to see what happens. not much room for anything else now

Yup I recall looking into this when someone asked about the space-saver a while back, there are several different configurations and j-bolt mounting points, depending on coupe, convertible, full-size and space-saver. I think on the coupe with full-sized spare, the L-bracket near the center of the rear seat back locates the jack mast and the outboard end just relies on the clamping force of the spare secured above it stopping it from moving/rattling, like Jimmy said above.

I agree. Just kind of thrown in there and you hope it doesnt rattle!! Mine has too much padding so we should be good. Off to a big show tomorrow and should be a perfect day

It was at the arthritis show in Dublin. There were some nice camaros there and i did win the camro class. Probably most original one

Thanks guys. We had a few days in the 90s and you could hardly stand it outside so today 80 with a breeze it was perfect. They may have had around 800-1000 cars it is a big deal. Good Guys is in town the same weekend and I don't know why they keep doing it like that

We did Goodguys in 98 and stayed in Dublin. As did anybody else that could book a room. Massive overflow of cars. I assume the Arthritis show is a fundraiser? And Goodguys is a three day event, pulling in Thursday night. Hit that Friday and Sunday with a good cause on Saturday makes for a nice weekend. I'd tote it down there again for that.

On the radio they say 6500 cars over at good guys and it's 1987 and back. I've actually never been there I heard it's just a sea of people. The arthritis show is a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation. They actually have a cruise in Friday and people get there in the middle of the afternoon. I don't like about the cruise in if you want to go look at cars They're really unorganized. Hard to asort thru a thousand cars to look at Camaros. During the show they're all lined up nice and you can get a map and go where you want.
I have one more favorite for the summer and it's in Delaware Ohio. They close off all the downtown streets and you just back your car into a parking spot and there's a good mix of stuff there. I would guess they get six to seven hundred cars

Looks like it's intended for the end of the jack mast to butt up against the raised rib forming the join between inner and outer wheelhouses. Neat.
Doesn't look like that particular car has the lug nut wrench secured to the jack mast with the rubber sleeves.

Whew, too many people for me. Blue Suede had around 5500 two years ago. We were pit side running the Anglia, not so bad. Worse ever was Pinks at Norwalk. Pinned to your trailor. But man, what a great time! When I did Good Guys Bill, it was very organized. Unloaded the Z in the lot next to the fairgrounds and just drove in. It was like a parade, spectators were alowd in after the cars were in place. Uncorked the headers to bring it in. Capped them to cruise at night. Good times.

You are right there, def one to do. Sort of struck me as a next level show. But then I went I think cut off was 1970. Tmes may have changed. Also , by no means was the Z considered a " street rod"
You should check it out next year.
They also grouped us.

Tim, where do you store the jack bracket for the VE3 ?

VE3 load rest hook stays on the stowed mast just like the standard hook. I think the only real difference is the extra piece that fits over the mast, which I assume is to stop the urethane bumper from slipping off the load rest if the material flexes.
