Title: 1969 Z/28 console temp gauge intermittent
Post by: ellis3071 on May 17, 2018, 05:56:04 AM
Looking for tips on curing my console temp gauge on my 69 Z/28. Sometimes it works fine & other time it pins itself cold while the car is running. As soon as I shut the car off the needle moves to indicate the temperature. I have replaced the sending unit on the block for the correct console gauge restoration unit, traced the wire all the way & also replaced the low fuel module after seeing it was in bad shape. I'm temped now to replace the gauge itself. I have checked my grounds also.

Appreciate any suggestions !

Really old thread but, I will add a few set up photos and results; Bench testing Console *68/69 U17 Amp meter, Water temp & Fuel level gauges. I experience similar pegging of the temp gage with my set up, was a intermittent console harness ground.
