Title: 1969 Z/28 back up lights
Post by: Deadwoodcarl on May 01, 2018, 11:13:33 PM
Did all 69 Z/28’s have the back up (reverse) lights in the tail pan below the rear bumper? And, are the SS type tail lights with the back up lights in their centers incorrect for a 69 Z/28?

The reverse lights below the bumper is part of the RS option. All non RS equipped cars would have the reverse lights with the tail light assembly.

So there are Z/28's with back up lights in the tail lights, non RS, and Z/28's with back up lights in the tail pan below the bumper, RS. The same with all other Camaro's, 67-69.

The R/S was not a performance package (like SS or Z28). It was an appearance package only (most notably the hidden headlights and back-up lights below the bumper) and could be added to any 67-69 Camaro regardless of the drive-train or body style.
