Title: 308R Delco Patent Pending Cap
Post by: ko-lek-tor on April 26, 2018, 11:50:40 PM
$2 bucks don't buy much at a swap these days. Case in point, these caps I recently acquired. Appears that I got a used 309R and a NOS 308R. I have looked and looked for a picture to compare and have not found any. I let my NCRS membership lapse, and that was probably my best hope?
I would like as much correct info on these to help the next schleb down the line, like myself, understand what they have. Now, I know the date range and usage (I think).
Since I have no other to compare, is this a repop? Is it 69 correct? I have never seen the die ejector pins on top with an X through them. Is this correct, or? Hard to distinguish colors but there is more of a brown hue seen from the inside of the brass contact cap. just wondering what I got? Thanks in advance students of 1st Gen.

Chick? Tim? Gary? Am I on the right site? Anyone who is familiar with these caps?

Bentley you probably already read this thread I started last year (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=15310) and it does appear your pictures are of a black 308R and brown(ish) 309R, but I haven't been able to find good reference pictures to compare them with.....especially regarding the ejector pins on the 308R. Will see if I can dig mine out to compare.

Tim, I read everything I could on this topic prior to posting. Like yourself, finding reference pictures , futile. This lack of pictures is the genesis for this inquiry. And precisely why I strive to get confirmation, so as to help the next guy.
