Title: Intermittent Horn Blowing - 1968 Camaro RS / SS / BB
Post by: marriest on April 16, 2018, 10:59:57 AM
What would cause intermittent horn blowing? Every so often my horn goes off for no reason.
I have looked at the parts on the steering column and nothing looks broken. Scares the SHXX out of me.

I can remember way back when I was driving my parents' old car, a 1965 Dodge Coronet, that it began to have the horn blow when I made a right hand turn.  Part of the horn assembly under the center cap broke, and whenever a loose piece made contact the circuit was activated and the horn blew.  I know it can be quite unnerving.

I had one the horn blew at times when turning the wheel. I am thinking it was a nicked wire. I remember it was not apparent and took a while to find it.
