I saw that also. I knew about gas ports and others but never knew about location from the top. Learn something new everyday.

It was interesting to me that the 'dykes' rings were not mentioned... (for drag racing purposes)...

Very popular on 2 strokes in the 70's.  Single rings located very close to the top of the piston.
