Title: 67 Camaro SS 350 valve cover hold down tabs
Post by: 67jeffreyt on March 05, 2018, 11:46:33 PM
I'm putting on the correct factory chrome valve covers and I want to find out was there a correct color for the hold down tabs and bolts? We're they plain, orange, black.  I can't find any information,  even restored engine pics I can't see good pics of the tabs under the bolts.

And what are the two welded tabs on one valve cover for?

Cover with tabs is on the driver side, for the temp sender wire loom hold down. See UPC 12 Sheet A9 in the AIM.  You can go to a vendor site like Heartbeat City and search on valve covers to see what the tabs and screw finishes look like.  I believe a nickel finish and not chrome.

Thank you, I saw their bolts and tabs, but wasn't sure of that was considered the original finish for the engine
