No picture of the front pad.

Thanks for the link. Just checked on it. June engine. Seller knows complete history on it.

How things change... :)
In late 1974, I paid $1000 for a complete good '68 Z28, orig engine, trans, etc... and drove it daily to school/work/etc for 2 yrs before trading it.
Now a part of an engine is $5500~!

Same time I was buying my first Camaro. 67 327/210hp with deluxe interior. Nice shape for $250 so your Z was pretty pricey!
I hope the above engine finds its proper home. Cool that it’s stilll so untampered with.

Anyone willing to contact the seller to see if we can get the partial VIN and suffix code?

I told him it’s posted here so hopefully he checks in and provides intel.
-
I texted him to ask the vin. Probably a little late to be mine but gotta check. He said it's an 0702 month. Too late for sure
-
It’s from a car that was totaled 30 years ago he reported.
-
Well if this had been 10 years ago I might have said maybe but at this point it seems the CE engine is as good as it gets for me.
-
At least the CE engine will not have an incorrect (for your car) VIN on it... :)

But if you consider it, had you put that $1000 in the bank back then in '74, you'd have a lot more than $5500 now

But unfortunately, that $5500 is worth less than the original $1000.

I think you missed the comma. The $1000 was for a complete original car. That would be worth more than the $5500 asking price of this partial motor. A lot more.
