Does anyone know how many 68 Zs came with power steering? Jerry’s book simply states, “very few 67 and 68 Z28s were equipped with power steering.......... .”
Mine still has the PS box, so I will be seeking the cast iron deep pulley for the pump and extra balancer pulley and related stuff.
Thanks

There is no breakdown of how many Z28s had power steering. We know how many total cars received PS, and that is 115,280 for the 68 model year.
It would be nice to know how many cars received different combinations of options, but it most cases we don't know that. One exception is for some of the engine and transmission combinations.

In 1968, 697 Z28's came with N40 power steering .

Thanks Paul!
It seems like I see a lot more in 69 Z's. Did the take rate go up for 69?

.. probably... :) and it's still going up!~ Lots more PS on Z28s now than there ever were when they were new....

No ECL breakdown in 69 just shows (45) ECL codes for N40

lol... Add mine to that list. I installed power steering on it right after I bought it almost 20 years ago. Last spring I decided I would put the factory manual box back on the car & I only drove it a few times before sticking the PS back on. I guess I'm just too old for the arm strong steering anymore. ;)
