Post by: FreddieB on February 08, 2018, 03:40:51 PM
Just curious if the survivor I'm working on has the original crank bolt ? it has a hole in the head stamped TR  If so what color should it be ? Thanks

I have a couple of them and neither 1 has a hole and they are black. Usually they have holes in them for safety wires in racing. Hope that helps

I have one of those TR bolts from a DZ and it had a hole too.  Like bac said safety wired for racing in the day.

If I can find mine, I'll share a pic. TR with the safety wire hole -

Not blasted yet, but I found my original in the stash, finally.

Star washer is original to this car -

The star washer may be original to the car, but it was not originally in that location.

Kurt,

I considered that before I wrote it. I've learned to shy away from making Definitive statements (no pun intended !).

I did run across this in my parts book - am I misreading the bolt/washer/reinforcement in 0.662 ? I've slept a few years since I rebuilt the 302, I thought I kept these together as I has removed them, but maybe not -

Regards,
Steve
