V0819MT, 3892657 H967 block
3890462 H176 (both) heads.
completely rebuilt, intake manifold to pan.
Note: The VIN is stamped upside down with a small "L",
is this normal?

Yep. The pad is scratched up a bit and maybe decked a little, but from what I see it looks good.

Thank you. I was not sure if the odd stamping was correct for that production time period,
and also wanted to make sure the casting dates lined up with the VIN. Aug 1966 correct?
I may end up with this motor if the original car does not pop up. the motor was fully rebuilt and then
never picked up from the rebuilder, liquidated when the shop closed down.

I never received the pics in email, but I agree with Ed. Looks legitimate to me.

I have an MU engine, I believe with the same 0819 (or very close to) assembly date, that I bought for my car because the VIN was within about 400 of my 11B K250 LOS car. Partial VIN on it is 7L116xxx (car is in storage several states away and I couldn't find a picture). It must have been jammed waaaaaay back in the engine storage area, to be used about 2 months later that this one.
