any one out there know anything about a 68 z28 factory race car, some of the options on this car are as follows: factory roll cage, heater delete, headlinner delete, back seat delete, disc breaks on all 4 corners, 302 ci engine with cross ram, factory fuel cell and a fiberglass hood. from what i understand jay lenno has one of these cars and was wondering how many like this were made. i want to try and find one to purcase if not make a clone as exact as i can, any info is appreciated

I have never heard of it. I have been to Jay Lenos shop and didn't see it. Leno is not really into musclecars.

No such thing as a "factory" roll cage or fuel cell; Trans-Am race cars were converted/built/prepared by private race teams to meet the requirements of the sanctioning organizations.

I could ask Jay when I see him this month. ;)
He will be here in South Florida, Feb. 23-25 2007
i was invited to display a car.

Hey booya420 -
You're in luck! There is a "survivor" 1968 Z/28 Trans-Am race car for sale right now on eBay! I believe this car sold last year on eBay for $100,000 plus. I don't know why it is listed again, so do your homework! Here's the link:

Good luck.
