Buddy of mine with a Rs fathom green Z sent me tbis today. Hes going to try and get a picture with his car under it. Very cool

Out here on Rt66 there are still a ton of abandoned gas stations and such, some with old pumps and signs, even old cars sitting around, that make excellent photo opportunities. I have always wanted to jump in the car and make some stops and take pictures. I don't know why I haven't done that yet. The Rt66 cruise out here they do every spring is a huge event (3,000+ cars) doing about 400+ miles of Rt66 to Cali and back stopping at every old town along the way. It's always been too crowded for pics though.

I was wondering how old of a picture that is the car is pretty glossy. It almost looks like it has white line tires on it and no cowl induction hood which is interesting

Also looks like it might be an early car with the 68 spoiler unless its an optical illusion..

Yes it would have to be an early car.
I am not sure it’s Fathom Green though. Looks like a blend of Rallye Green and Fathom Green.
Check out the rockers, probably not 100% gloss. lol 😆

I was getting ready say what Bryon posted. Too light for FC. Maybe the light on Rally Green. It looks like it is for a body shop in NC. Wonder what part? I have been in central NC for 64 years now.

Looking at the article, I see an oil fill tube in the intake? Like pre-69. Maybe added to make it easier to add the oil?

I would guess so but seems like a strange way to go about it, considering back then the simple thing to do was to just swap the valve covers side to side and make it easier. That's what I remember everyone doing. Actually when that is occasionally seen today people are quick to snap about it being incorrect, but when I see it, the first thing I think of is that's the same thing I saw everyone doing in the 70's for easier access. Definitely more subtle than having that big oil filler sticking out on a 69.

Since i have talked to most of you in this thread at one time or another, i thought i would share this. I got a total hip replacement today. Went in at 8 and home by 8. Seems to have went fine, not too sore. I tore up the cartledge from a bone growth near the socket. In january dr did arthroscopic and it acted like the flap he tried to fix didn't stay. Today he said the cartledge was mush so glad i had it done. If you guys get in a situation like this, find good surgeon and don't put up with it. its been bad 2 years and finally found dr that knew what was wrong. Maybe now i can get on with getting the Chrysler out of our farm shop!
And for DW there is a picture cause it happened!

Glad you are doing ok Bill but take it easy. Do exactly what they say as far as rehab.

In March it will be two years for me, need to have the other one done SOON. No pain pills, no bruising, no rehab, did exercises at home for a month and was good as new. Hope yours goes well for you.

That is good to hear. I have a family member scheduled to get 1 done in January. I hope the recovery is quick as well.

Warm weather is always good Bill and what I always recommend ;) I rarely venture East passed the AZ border after about Sept, lol.
Hoping a speedy recovery. My father-in-law had both hips replaced.....twice! He had a harder time the second go around, 85 years old.
Head south and take a break ;D

My dad reminded me the 300 has been in the shop like 2 years lol.
Its a money pit and I hope I dont want to keep it! women love that big convertible though.
I have everything to finish it but paint. I want to get it on the rotisserie and get the undercoating off. Maybe next summer

Leads to other issues due to compensating for the bad hip: knees, back, other hip, etc...best you had it done and didnt wait any longer. Surgeon sets protocols for his work, on file for the therapist. Dont take rehab lightly. You'll be fine soon, hip surgery procedures have advanced by leaps and bounds since i rehabed my 1st hip pt. 18 years ago. Used to be pretty nasty stuff. (PTA my second career)Just recently resigned from the clinic. Getting to old to work all the time.

I am getting along ok. They did this anterior and it stretches the muscles where they go in but they dont cut anything. That part is sore. I shouldnt take anti inflammatories due to a past heart attack and I got pretty sore yesterday. I talked to my dr and decided a couple days of advil shouldnt do much and it really helped. I have had enough of weird health problems!!

Nice car and ownership story. Pity the article continues with the idea that early Z28s had flat hoods and later builds all had the cowl hood.

Still fresh, it will get better soon. Dont forget ice, unless you have allergies. Very rare, but some do have a negative reaction. 15-20 mins post activity, and its cheap. Dont laugh, usually reccomend a large bag of frozen peas. Cheap, forms, throw back in the freezer when your done.

I am renting a machine called game ready. It pumps ice water and compresses a sleeve that wraps around my leg. I used it a year ago when i had the arthroscopic done and it really works. Insurance wont cover it but well worth using. I have nothing else to do so i watch tv and use the cooler machine.

Appeared to have minimal gauge package (speedo, clock, fuel)... NO tach, oil pressure, temp, ammeter... not even add ons... and the interior and exterior colors looked really weird to me... maybe it was the filter(s) used when the photographs were made...?
