Title: Sweet looking 69 BB car for sale
Post by: BULLITT65 on December 08, 2017, 03:50:39 PM
Hey I saw this posted on ebay, and thought "everyone loves to find a car just like that"
https://www.ebay.com/itm/232589518569?ul_noapp=true

A original BB 4 speed car with heaps of patina, awesome.

Any guesses on what this beauty will go for? I gotta think that patina will drive guys to bid higher...

I am not that quick with POP,s but I think it is a little to late for the SS wheels and for real patina I think the new seat covers look out of place.

That is proabably true about the wheels, but I would rather have the seat cover than a ripped up seat with springs coming out. I mean the SS on the dash is also incorrect, but for most guys this car is going to really be something that they like as is.

If I picked up this car, I would run those wheels, even though the caris a bit late for them (but I am a big fan of those wheels)
I think Steve S has them on his SS as well, just because they are a good looking wheel, and a good alternative to rally wheels.

Agreed, I have them on my SS. Although they are repop 15,s I just always liked their look and it is something different.

It is the patina man. That is still a hot button right now. Even with a littlefluffing, a "survivor" car right now is surprisingly still on par with a top notch restored car, price wise.  :o

I don't understand why it is. I know I like driving my unrestored cars just the way they are, but thats me.

I couple more (tiny) rock chips? I wouldn't notice. Some extra dirt? Just adds to the value now a days....LOL  :P ??? :)

They are only original once.  After restoration they become "cookie cutter" 98% of the time.

So has anyone seen where the engine and trans numbers on the POP don't match the actual engine and trans in the car which have the partial VIN's matching the car?  This is according to the thread over at Camaros.net and seems odd so I was wondering if this has been documented before.

Yes I have pics. POP is good, with errors. Kurt convinced me.

Engine, transmission and axle are original.

POP errors happen - but having an error on both the engine date and transmission date is quite rare in my opinion.

I've seen the car in person on a number of occasions.  It's been to the Pavilions cruise a few times.  I last saw it around mid November while I was at the cruise.  At that time he was asking mid $40's for the car.  It's a legit car and everything I saw about it (engine and documents) was legit.   It was original paint with original style fender stripes (paint and tape)   Someone back in the day added the center stripe.  When I looked at it, it did have the repop tires on it, but I don't think those new seat covers were on it at that time.   Neat to see though, early build with short spoiler etc...
Don't know if he ever sold it.  If not I expect to see it again one of the next 3 weekends at the Pavilions cruise because it's the kickoff weekend cruises for the Russo & Steel and the Barrett Jackson Auctions coming up, and the cruise is always flooded with buyers.

The new owner has posted the car on Instagram a few times.   Goes by "mattksax" on Instagram.   Has some more pics and video of the car running.

So it has sold since November when I saw it??   That's too bad.  Hopefully someone eventually buys the car that will enjoy it rather than flip it.

I don't do Instagram, tweet, facebook, or any of that other social media stuff, so can't view it.  But if I saw the guy again I'd likely recognize him if it's the same one from Phoenix.  We'll see if the car shows up again at the Pavs in the next couple weeks.

Thanks for the link.  I don't visit other boards, just check in here once in a while so I wouldn't have known otherwise.  Mainly communicate via email and PM's.  Although Bill has convinced me to check another awesome forum (thanks Bill  ;D)

Good to see the car has a new owner that appears is going to appreciate the car and enjoy it.
