Messaged the vendor "427 King" on the obvious , no response.

I've seen several complaints about other "prominent" vendors' shady practices lately (Made in USA stickers over "made in taiwan labels", continuously out of stock on a part so they can sell "house" version, advertising high quality part and sending crap, etc)
Between that and all of the scam cars out there, it's really discouraging.

He is misinformed...that looks like a Firebird style square bar.

He has been notified.

I'd believe that if he took listing down or corrected it after I messaged him on the fact that its a firebird bar and not a camaro.

427 King is a member on all the sites and has an enormous amount of parts. He has some great cars also. His knowledge is vast. I have purchased a couple things in the past and they were fine. Could have just been a quick over site with thousands of parts for sale at any given time. Danny

Hey Danny, how you been? Long time no post.
As usual, buyer beware, do the research.

Oh snap.... Here's the other side:

Damn.. I think I have 2 of those laying on the ground outside my garage, @ 700 bucks a pop maybe I better go dig them up. lol...

Reading the description tells a story:
"1967 square traction bar 12 bolt camaro not a firebird repalcement correct with brackets. We are very knowledgeable about the correct parts you need for your specific restoration."

I was on Ebay and bidded on some parts that were modified to the point of no repair. My bids were rejected and I wondered what they based their value on. Must have been this vendors store.

Hey check that that "U"

What's wrong....the position of U relative to B? I've see the ratio code characters not level many times.

Here's my original for comparison

Looked to me in the ebay item, why is the U the only digit that seems to be stamped deeper and you can read all of the letter

My guess....The gang stamp looked to be held at a slight angle and the 'U' being higher is more within the "strike" zone.

I have actually seen many original stamped rear ends. There are a handful of variations I have observed. The stamp on this rear end looks fine to me, based on other originals.

I agree, not only is the U deeper and out of line, but every other character is stamped light at the bottom except for the "U". So did the axle plant stamp the second code character separate? That U was clearly not in the gang stamp when the other letters were stamped.
-
I have seen a number of stamps where it looks like the letters and numbers were stamped individually. It is more the exception to the rule. Most of them the dates are in line, and the Axle code stamped separate and deeper.
here is a thread with a decent amount of pics of original rear ends:

Once you look at them all you will see the variation. ;)
