Does anybody have an opinion on what are the best heater core gaskets on the market today for a small block heater core?
-
heater core gaskets? like the rubber seal that it sits against in the heater box?
Or are you talking abut the gasket that the heater box sits against the firewall?
-
I only bought one a long time ago from Ricks, the seals were not large enough. It like they used a dried up seal to copy and it is too small. I used them as guides to make larger/thicker ones from sheet neoprene. To replace the defrost seal, you need to drill out the welds on the tapered end :(

I am looking for the whole kit.....against firewall and inside heater box
-
There are no pre-packaged seals for the firewall. On the inside, the insulation pad is the seal. In the the engine bay, you use a rope of dum-dum sealer in the pocket of the cover.

I either have this somewhere in my pile or was going to get it. Either way I don't know if it's any good yet. I do know the seal for the tubes is incorrect and most kit descriptions say so. Either Steve's or Heartbeat used to anyway.

Then you have to get the correct seal separately.

Heart beat has the same same seal kit as Steve for $2 more. I just personally don't like to deal with Heartbeat if I don't have to.
