Whats the difference in a z28 2 piece throttle rod and the big block 2 piece rod?
-
The rod that attaches to the carb has a different bend. The back half of rod or the part the front rod threads into is the same for small block and big block.

Thx Warren

If anyone has pics of each rod that would be stupendous. Are they interchangeable or no?

Google is your friend.

The L34 /L35 rod shown above is for use with the earlier Quadrajets that used a rubber bushing w/plastic insert in the throttle arm. The L78 style was used on the later '67 L35's that used a Quadrajet but the throttle arm no longer used the rubber bushing. Both my L35's w/Q-jets (March/April 67) use the L78 style rod.

My 68 396/325 use's has L78 rod. Did some research 68 & 69 assembly manual show's the same rod for 325 & 350 HP as 375 HP. Also my 69 gm parts book give the same part's for all 68-69 396. Always trust my part's books over google. But found out 67 z-28 front rod uses different # than 68-69 z28 would like to know what was the difference.

Sport, A clue to look at is the difference in Assembly manual between the 2. 67 UPC Z28 Sheet A3 & 68 UPC Z28 Sheet A3. Throttle arm linkage changed on the 3910 to the 4053. Ill have to look at my photos as I dont fully agree with the pic above on throttle rod applications.

I'm in the market for a 68 z original. :)

Try Jerry MacNeish or Camaro Specialty's in New York!

Perfect!

Well if you want to be 100% correct... 67 Z shows a different part number for the front half of the throttle arm linkage vs 68 & 9 in the AIM. The rear portion is all the same for all 3 years. 67 used a cotter pin and the 8&9 used e clips to attach to the throttle arm of the carb.
-
I was curious about the apparent throttle arm rod front and rear portions component finishes as related to the photo from: July 1968 Car Life Road test Page 47

This is off one of my survivor cars. Carb rebuilt but Engine never out. Cowl Tag Date O5C. Hope this helps. ... Danny
What happened to the pictures being cut off? Maybe someone can fix it?
-
I can see the whole length by using the scroll bar on the bottom.
-
I did the same thing, just wanted it in one picture. Fixed it ... Danny

Now How does one strip POR15 black paint?
I would like to send the Scan of the article as an objective NEW rep photo
-
67 forearm has a hole for a cotter pin VS the E clip on the 68-69 is the shape of the arm different?
-
Are the component finishes the same for 1969?
-
1969 Yes Same;
One can see it clearly on the following vintage 1969 Z28 photos: & Silver plated squirter's.
Large black and white shots of the Hot Rod Test car & the color photo of the engine shot of a rally green car.
