Will move it shortly.
Black paint on master cylinder? Nice
Thanks for starting this post James.

Please post a pic of the tag when you have time. Thanks!

Man I love these survivors! Great pics!
-
Perfect can not wait to see much much more!
This will be very helpful-

You know I love to document 68's James so thank you! One thing I noticed was the large steering arm nut with what appears to be zinc. Interesting in that is how I had ours, lock washer phosphate with clear zinc nut but changed to phosphate nut for judging. Keep those pics coming!

Chick,
Did you document that FLAT handled dip stick? Notice no clamp on power brake vacuum line. Must have just gotten changed at one time and pushed on with no clamp to get it up and going. Would love to see a few hundred more pic's. This is one of my dream cars... color and all... Danny
-
Yes please post some good detail pics of the dipstick. I am in the camp of there being two suppliers for 1968.
Maybe a pic of the fuel pump plate too.
-
Also the bypass hose clamps- Please (Not sure but I spy side style clamp?)

Sure did Danny and so did Bryon! Got back in just now to comment on and bingo you guys are fast...... Will await James hopefully having some great pics of it and many more of this survivor. Like to see close up of lift hooks also.

Glad to see you on here Danny. I hope to see you posting about a new purchase in the future... :)
I agree with others on this beauty, keep the pics coming. Great find!

Thanx, I come on to try to get the feeling. I rather doubt ever posting about a new car I just bought, but ya never know I guess. Hoping to just not be living in my '96 4runner soon. ha ha
Look at that beautiful 452 on the front valance! :) Chick, notice the battery ground on the rad support slightly eschew. Remember we talked about that. Also take a look at the solid rivet rad cap. This car is a couple weeks before mine. I remember talking to Steve S. at 2015 MCACN. I was pretty confident my car should have the open rivet. He said don't be too quick. And explained to me it was not a guarantee.
50th Anniversary this year. I wish I could go, greatest show EVER!! I can taste that pork chop at Gibson's!.. Danny

The 2nd owner bought the car when it was about a year old. -
He removed the shocks and smog almost immediately.
-
Love the upside-down '3' in the pad stamp partial!
-
James, the front brake line brackets on sub-frame, hard to tell in your picture but do they have any remnants of black paint on them?
Thanks & great pics!

He probably just wants to get rid of those and send them to me. Seriously, just great to see these kinds of cars.

Chick this is a Norwood car with black fuel pump plate, you had posed the question to Dave on the Yenko boards.

James, sorry but what I asked about was the "front brake line brackets on sub-frame, hard to tell in your picture but do they have any remnants of black paint on them?"

Amazing car. I will be following this while working on mine. Must've been a week long run on Lemans Blue Z's. Mine was produced the same week.
-
Love the color. It's a beauty!
-
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the upside down and backwards "3" in the partial block VIN. Pretty cool to see little mistakes like that from the factory. What a beauty this one is!
-
ZLP mentioned the upside down 3 earlier.... :)
This car is equipped identically to a lemans blue '68 Z28 I owned from 1974 to 1976, down to the Judson Electronic Magneto on the firewall! :) I even spent a little time trying to find old paperwork that had my VIN on it.... unsuccessfully!
-
That would be something, if it had been your car.
-
No, I didn't (and don't) think it was the one I owned, but I think it was built very close to that same date... (I kept the Judson when I traded mine - and used it on the '69 Z28 I traded it for)... I think the blue Z28 pictured is nicer now than the one I owned back in '74-76, and certainly kept more original~ :)
note: Judson labed that unit an 'electronic magneto'; it was actually a capacitive discharge (CD) unit on a big coil) but they worked great in the old days with a point car...
-
I seen this car at MCACN, pretty cool for sure. I think he was asking 75K. Do we know if it has been sold? And if so, do we know who purchased it, was it someone from the Camaro sites?... Danny

Dang it. I went back and looked too. Missed it lol... :-\

Chick,
Mine still do if it helps. Dave

Oh my god !!!! it is amazing !!!!! WOW!!!!
-
Does this car have an all black grill or a chrome accent grill?
Thanks
-
Grill is all gray, with black trim around the inside edge. I believe all '68's have gray grills. Some aftermarket grills are black, and incorrect... Danny

Hmm. I thought this car was an RS I guess. Just double checked and realized its not. My question was as if it was an RS. Thanks for the reply Danny.
-
No Problem... I wondered if you thought that. Car is in my garage if ya have anymore questions ;).. Danny

I know I will have more questions and possibly would like to invite myself on a field trip. ;)
My Z/28 vin is 431616 so with about the same build date, there are a number of things I’ll be asking you about and might like to see.

I am in Northern CA about 40 miles north of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. In the heart of the wine Country. You are more than welcome to come on out. Car was delivered from Colorado to down the street from my house on April Fools Day 2018. Ended up doing 23 shows last year and a bunch of cars & coffee's in between. Good Times! ;D Only signed up for 15 this year. Let me know.. I am starting a thread as promised shortly. Maybe even tonight... Danny
