I've completed a full restoration on my '68 BB with Console gauges and my temp gauge won't even move off of the cold mark, this is my first time ever dealing with a temp gauge, so I'm not sure where to start! Can anyone give me some pointers on where to start!

Did you wrap Teflon tape around the sender? That blocks the ground path from the sender. It was the first thing I would check. Also check the grounds to the dash. Seems like a very common issue.

No, I did apply a very, very small amount of liquid teflon, I haven't checked the ground at the gauge yet, to check it, does the entire top half of the console have to come out, or can I just pull the gauges out of the console?

Did you pull the wire off the sending unit and ground it to see if gauge goes to full?
-
No, but I'll try that...Thanks.

I did connect a ground to the wire that connects the temp sender and it didn't go to hot, so I removed the face plate from the gauges and moved the needle all the way over to hot, turned the key on and it immediately went back all the way over to cold!

Do a search. This has been covered multiple times. Start with THIS THREAD (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=5425.msg35346#msg35346) and the replies by Mark..
