I saw this ad, and thought, this may be before my time, and a little wild. But for some of you guys, this car would have put you in the limelight back in the day.
Only 22k, and you could have a 1 of a kind fathers day gift! ;D

if the ad comes down:

Ahhhhh, yes, the Seventies! Now, where did I put that "In da gadda da vida" 8 track?
-
I love 68-72 Vettes. But that one, my first reaction was "ugg!" I didn't like those customs then and I don't like most of them now.
-
I didn't much like that one either; other than the red/white/blue colors used I didn't see much 'patriotic' flair either.
Now a friend of mine has a '68 Corvette that raced in IMSA in the 70's by his cousin, which he and his dad obtained and 'restored' back to it's racing glory appearance.. I think this one has much more Patriotic flair.. :)
-
Ok so there are different degrees of "patriotic flare"..... :P
Just not your everyday paint job, so I thought it worth sharing.
-
Different meanings of 'flare' and 'flair' as well.. :)
'Flare' - a sudden brief burst of bright flame or light.
'Flair' - stylishness and originality ; a special or instinctive aptitude or ability for doing something well.
But perhaps I misunderstood your use? :)
-
sorry, you are correct. I should have said "flair". It seems like they were inspired by the bicentennial with the sticker on the hood.I could do with out the headlight mod, myself. I do like the vette that you posted as well though, especially with the racing history.
-
Whenever I see photos like these, especially the second one, I think of John Greenwood's Corvettes in IMSA and whatever other sanctioning bodies he raced in. They were monster fast and always had patriotic paint schemes.
-
I dont care for this type of flair

But this is more entertaining Flair

This I like. That is too far over the top for me.

That car was probably posted on this site before. https://www.facebook.com/groups/456235534422504/ Many repeat submissions over the years.
