Post by: enio45 on November 22, 2005, 02:45:55 PM
I could some help on this topic....im researching some double park lift products and i need to know the height of the car.....does anyone have the official measurements from GM ( usually in the owners manual) of
1.  floor to roof height
2.  floor to  mid front fender
3.  floor to mid trunk

Assumption all stock components, tires and wheels

I need this for 68Z and 69Z

Thanks for your time

The only AMA-published height dimensions are ground-to-top of roof, which is 51.1", and ground-to-top of cowl, which is 36.4"; those dimensions are for 69's.

Wouldn't you need to add an extra inch for the Z28 to account for the 15" wheels?

Nope - the Z/28 design ride height (a function of spring height at design load) was lower than any other Camaro model.

Hi Enio. Do you know the factory ride height of a z-28 1969 camaro. In particular the ground to bumper height and /or the lip of fender to mid hub. Many thanks.

'69 ride heights are specified in terms of design front and rear suspension heights (spring deflection) and rocker-to-ground heights; there's a chart in the UPC 0 section (sheet A10) of the '69 Assembly Manual that shows how to measure them and gives the numbers for each tire size/option condition.

Hi John,

Regarding UPC 0 / A10 in the Assembly Manual...

Do you know if the measurement is taken from the ground to the flat finished part of the rocker panel, or to the "unfinished" flange that hangs a bit lower?

Thanks.

Hi John,

Thanks.

It's taken to the flat finished lower surface, not to the bottom edge of the weld flange.
