Title: 68 Z trans mount
Post by: 68Zproject on June 04, 2017, 07:08:01 AM
Looked over threads with no conclusive answer so I wondered if anyone knew what trans mount came on the 68 Z? Was it the same on all small blocks?  Jerry shows one part # 3895830 that I read somewhere, but can't find again.  Some parts books list 3 different ones used from 67-69.

The part number the Jerry refers to is for 1968 & 1969 Z/28. Also fit 68-70 Nova & Camaro with 396. Says it has a white daub of paint & 3-3/4 between bolt holes. This is from 2/73 parts catalog...Joe

That's the correct part number but it's not specific to the Z28. I believe the mount for a Muncie and TH400 is the same.

I knew I read that somewhere before and just couldn't find it.  Well, as usual the NOS guys have pegged it as Z28 and hi po so it's big bucks.  Don't tell anyone I bought a good used one for cheap.

T400 is 4-1/4 between bolt holes.

The 3928392 transmission mount was used on just about every car and truck for all transmission EXCEPT the Turbo 400! Even used on the Corvair!

Unfortunately the people with NOS ones feel that they're only for Z28!  $$$$$$$$.  At some point they do price themselves out of the market.  I'd pay maybe $100 for one but not 4 times that.
