Has anyone seen Pal locking nuts used on sway bar end links on an original 1969 Z?

I haven't seen the PAL nuts; not shown in the Assembly Instruction Manual. Z/28s were not different, used the production front sway bar & hardware.

I got an original set off a 68 for my car and they didn't have those locking nuts either. It was a 68 though. They were so original that I went around a corner and one of the bolts broke. I should have just kept them for show. I of course had to replace the bolt with a repop one.

The 69 AIM Nut part number is shown in the AMK book as a std hex nut (i.e. NOT Locking style)
I think the constant pressure from the compression of the rubber bushings puts enough preload "locking" pressure on the nut to preclude loosening. Could be an improvement having a 1/2 height 'jam' nut to be SURE it does not back off.
the sample in the picture is FINE thread? correct? (5/16-24UNF)

Originals were 5/16-24 fine thread. Most original bolt heads were "WB" (per JM).

Originals were 5/16-24 fine thread. Most original bolt heads were "WB" (per JM).

I concur originals are 5/16 -24 fine thread... they appear to be the same nut as held the front shocks to the subframe - the bushings are the same part number as well - (shock and swaybar)

For some reason I can't see your pictures, but I think I know what your asking. Yes, I have seen them and have a set that I took off a 69 Z. However, I haven't ever seen them before and I've taken many First Gens apart. The funny thing is that the bolt, which is the same length has head marking that appear to be GM. They are stamped with "E W F" and have a slight con-caved flat washer. which looks nothing like the original and also it has 3/8 fine thread.

I also have a pair of NOS links (# 464167??) that have more of a flat washer and they have a 5/16 course nuts. The head marking is also different, but it's a common GM marking. However, it's not the "WB".

The part number in the 1969 assembly manual is the same for ALL of the shock bushings and the SWAY BAR bushings.
16 for the entire car - 4 for the rear shocks, 4 for the front shocks and 8 for the sway bar. approx 1/2" diam and 3/4" tall
