Now up for sale is this beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 396 375 HP V8 Automatic show car in outstanding condition throughout! This is a true RS/SS and to the best of our knowledge is a numbers matching original.
This is an original RS/SS but we are not repping this as a Numbers Matching car although we believe it is.
Its’ original Holley Four Barrel Carb is included in the sale...
Car has factory A/C so no 375 hp engine. It was entered in the CRG db in 2002; was an L65/M38 at that time.

The TH400 tags were nicely repo'd 25 years ago. Should be a partial VIN on the top lip of the case.

My CX 400,s vin is on the side, just above the pan rail. correct?

I have only seen them stamped on the mounting flange of the trans. Later cars may have been stamped in that location.

Yes
TH400 transmissions were VIN stamped either above the pan rail on the driver's side (very difficult to see with the exhaust system installed) or on the driver's side of the bellhousing (as indicated in the picture). from CRG

as my 1968 CC th400 & 1969 CX th400 are both stamped just above the pan rail

I do recall the difficulty reading it in the car. When I brought the car to NC from out of state, NC at that time required photos of three vin locations one of which could be the title. At DMV Raleigh NC they had a lift. Even on the lift we could read it but the exhaust was so close their camera would not focus. I was told to remove the exhaust and bring it back.
