Window sticker is a poor repro. CBC 'copy' is a joke. Sure like to see a better pic of the body tag.
-
Best I could do on grabbing a cowl tag pic. I don't like it.
-
The window sticker states a chambered exhaust system. Was that even available that late in the year?
-
Chambered exhaust was discontinued as an option as of May 19, 1969. N703347 was final-assembled on or about October 29, 1969. There are several other errors on the repro window sticker.
For all the bloviating about 'correct' [9 mentions] and awards won, several restoration errors are present.
-
I remember seeing the car 17 years ago. Nicely done.
I didn't like the engine stamp, but that was before digital cameras. I'd like to see a pic of it.
Docs are a joke, so is the tag....
-
Is this the wrong door for this build date?
-
Here's my list:
LH door is earlier production, missing the FMVSS label positioning beads
door latches should have overspray
chrome screws on door jamb vents
Z/28 floor mats?
incorrect lock nut on shift lever
has bright pedal trim, does not have Z23 special interior group
photos show shifter in neutral, ignition in lock position
ducted hood seal incorrectly installed
spare tire wheel incorrectly painted
rear stripes extend too far into trunk lip
exhaust system missing resonators, aftermarket muffler
140 speedo n/a on Z/28
excessive firewall stripe overspray for a late production car
service replacement polished rocker covers
repro dash top
poor fitting headlamp doors, VE3 bumper
ad text mentions "blue light" stereo radio; should have later style yellow light
I admit much of this is nit-picky. So much for awards and "...tremendous detail and dedication to correctness." Biggest hurdle now, both tags have been off the car. Someone will have to determine if they went back on the same body. And let's see some drivetrain stampings.

Pretty thorough list William.
Question shouldn't this car have the RS turn signal lamps? or was that just early cars that got those?
-
So is my Z the only one on the planet with a std black steering wheel? ;D
-
Yours is the only one, with it installed... :)

"Bright accented parking lights" on RS were dropped from the 1969 Camaro dealer order form as of December 1968; from dealer ordering info as of January 1969. There must have been a supply in the pipe line as they are known to have been installed on even non-RS cars as late as February. But that's about it and the car in question would not have had them.
-
That info is probably on the CRG somewhere, I appreciate the info, as I am on the hunt for 1. Thanks
-
Heck I don't even know if that is on the site.
I see you are looking for 3192477 front shocks. They were still in the P & A Manual as of the mid-'80s when I did my Z/28-RS so I ordered a pair. The boxes had that number but the shocks inside were some superseded number. Fit and looked OE but not what I wanted.
Be careful if you find "NOS."
-
Again great info. Doubt I have the budget for NOS, but I will remember that advice. Thanks for the tip!

I have the second :)
-
The car is nice. I would like to have it. But the price does not reflect what it really is.
