Everything worked before I took the car apart. Now the temp guage does not work. Replaced the temp sender. Replaced the resistor on the guage. All new wiring. Removed teflon tape from sender. Grounding the sender sends the guage up one quarter. What else could be wrong. It was a working guage before. Thanks

Have you verified you wired it correctly? Did you remember the ground to the gauge carrier? Here's a few pics of my originals when I disassembled them to do a little R&R for comparison.

Had similar problem that impacted gas gauge as well. Found out the front face of the gauge assembly wasn't mounted tightly to the console (small screws). Discovered by tapping on the face of the gauge and kind of jostling around. Apparently this completes the ground. Just something to check.

if you used silicone or to much Teflon tape on the sending unit it might not be grounding to the block.

Check the thermostat.
