The owner of the car reached out to me the last time it was for sale. I offered my opinion at his request and informed him of all the issues I found with the car. He stated he had gotten a differing opinion from a known Camaro expert/ business in MI. It was not HBC just for clarification.

Typical. Ignore the answers you don't like and find someone that will give you the answers you DO like. There are so many Camaro "experts" out there that you can usually find one that will agree with you! They're experts by no means whatsoever, but that's what they call themselves.

Man, that tag is crisp and tall. Wish the Addressographs in the day were that precise, but then what would distinguish them nowadays ?

What got me is the date on the pop of the transmission does match the transmission. How could the pop and the car be made months before the transmission. Amazing!!

I actually contacted the ebay seller (who says he is helping a friend), and let him know that there were some discrepancies. I told him I was not an expert, but I suggested he contact Jerry or Steve, and that I thought they were both reputable experts. (Thanks Steve)

I assume this guy thinks his transmission is Dec of 68. Let's say it was October and this car is October of 69. Is the transmission date the same for one built in October of 68 compared to October of 69 or did it get a c or something like axles?

I believe the trans would have a P8 if it was October of 68. Yes he does think it was a late 68. I tried to describe that even that would be a huge time frame for it to sit around, and he said his "expert" said it fits fine. I thought instead of getting into the minutia of trans date sit would be better for him to talk to an expert. So I passed along Steves info (thanks Steve)

I was understanding the year as model year and all 69s should have a 9? I would guess normally there wouldn't be much to any overlap of reusing a month. But in 69 with the late production they could overlap the same month used in late 68

I looked at the car a couple of weeks ago. Owner is a nice guy and very accommodating. I too had concerns with the tag as well as I could not find a VIN anywhere on the block. Several small items missing that would add up. Console and gauges added according to owner. Camaro expert referenced in his description is Richard Maksym (Coast 2 Coast Camaro) who also did much of the work. Paint is really nice overall and interior needs minor sorting out. I am not 100% sure the tag is a problem and I was less concerned with the POP. The car however presented me with more questions than answers so the search goes on for me.
