Has anyone installed a 4 gauge cluster from a 67 firebird into a 67 Camaro? If so what is involved? Is it a plug and play or is there much mofification that Has to be done?

I don't have answers, but I am interested in you questions. Hopefully someone has done this. I think you also asked over on the Team Camaro site, right?

Welcome to the CRG. Always great to see new members. Does your car have any other Firebird mods?
Was your car originally set up for the Camaro gauges? Oil pressure is a no brainer (mechanical still right?), But water temp should also not be to involved other than a different connector possibly.

I have a 68 Firebird gauge cluster and always wonder if I could install them in my 67 Camaro. They don't have a mechanical oil pressure like a Camaro, and all the gauges are in the speedometer cluster itself, not like a Camaro where they are on the console. They are all electric

Good to know. I assumed they had optional gauges on the floor. If you had the sending units for each hooked up to what ever motor you are running. It should work

Doubtful. All the wiring would be wrong.

It is pretty simple to hook up the gauges if the factory wiring did not work.
Using the correct sending units and running the wires to the gauges, is a fun project for most car guys.

Or, if by chance the cluster connector body is the same, re-pin the connector so the circuits match.

You are forgetting that it's a printed circuit board. It's doable, but not sure the cluster connectors are the same and it would require some wiring thought to get the pins right. Might be easier to put in a Firebird harness.

That's what I was thinking, because the Camaro gauges were on the console, not the dash. Then I would have to buy 2 new harnesses? I know it could be done. I think I will just leave it stock, all Chevy

Did some checking. The four gauge type would not be an easy swap. I have a regular Firebird speedo/gas gauge setup and will try to post pics of that later.
