I'm not arguing with the individual just curious on the numbers matching. The trim tag doesn't state 4 speed, but also doesn't state automatic. So is it possible to be numbers matching, without the tag stating 4 speed?

Car is a rally sport, originally had red deluxe interior
-
W means the car was equipped with a tinted windshield. 2GS means the car originally came with a console, the standard M15 3 speed manual transmission (a Powerglide would have included the 2M code), and a rear antenna. 3SL means it's a Rally Sport with Z23 special interior. 5Y indicates deluxe seat belts.

I didn't know about base model 3 speed, I only see console, rear antenna, which car has. He states numbers matching 4 speed. So he must be Incorrect. I'm not looking to buy and the buyer can deal with him, I just was trying to decipher his tag verses what he's stating. Thanks Ed.

Do you have a link to the car in question?

I don't do facebook so I can't see it, but is he advertising it as COMPLETELY numbers matching? To some, "numbers matching" only means the engine. What exactly is the description?

Engine, transmission, rear end, complete numbers matching, interior is not. It's black standard bucket seat with console, has wood wheel and tach and gauges.

Description of the car

Sorry about the size I don't know how to resize on my phone

Any floor shift 67 should have the code on the tag. This is how Fisher body knew to cut in the hole.

Even if it has the console code?

My 67 specifically states 4 speed in the tag option list. So if nothing is stated, it's considered base model? But how is 3 speed over powerglide to be determined? Other than an order sheet?
-
That tag is suspicious.

I'm not sure what you guys are asking, but group 2 without G, L, M or Z would indicate the car came with the base 3 speed manual transmission on the column. A group 2 G code (but again, without the L, M or Z) indicates the car came with the base 3 speed manual transmission with the console, and therefor the floor shifter.

Thanks Ed.

So basically he is incorrect on numbers matching 4 speed.
-
Tag would read 2 LGS if 4 Speed. Not 2 GS.

Gotcha, thank you
