Hello guys, New member here with a question. I realize there is not a classified section here, so Im looking for suggestions on where to search, other than ebay, for a really nice original 69 Z/28 or Big block car that is ready to go and not a re stamp. Thanks and great site!

Welcome.. Go to the classified sections on each forum. You might have to create a username first to view on Team Camaro I cant remember.

The yenko site always has high quality cars of members. That would be my first step.

It's also possible to find one *(hopefully local enough to visit/inspect)* via Craigslist, so I'd check there as well...

I am always looking for original cars for sale, even though I am not always in the market. Team Camaro is limited on the classified section. The Yenko site has some, but again few. ebay and craigslist you will find advertised Z or big block cars but unverified , so scary.
A BB 1st gen or Z is to big of purchase to have guess work, IMO. I would contact Jerry Macneish and see if he perhaps knows of any for sale. He also checks out the Barret Jackson cars so it may be worth setting up a meeting with him at a BJ auction, where some known Z/BB cars are going to be auctioned off, and have him give you his opinion on which car(s) he likes and how correct they are. Any info you get from Jerry on a car he has seen first hand would protect you from a fraudulent BB or Z.
It may cost a bit more to go this route, but in the long term you will have a correct car the first time.

A car like what you are looking for will take a significant investment. Probably $60,000 or more.
Speaking philosophically, but truthfully, I don't think the timing is right for such an investment - for anyone.

But after Friday itll be ok.. ;D

After Friday, hopefully lots of things will be better.. :)

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions and I feel they are all spot on....Ill check the sites you mentioned and see whats out there. Im curious as to what you guys think about the timing of buying a higher dollar car at this time? Do you think the market is up or down on the Z's and BB cars? Thanks again for all the advice...
-
Seems like it has been on a steady slow incline for original cars. The clone market seems more volatile to me.
-
I'd buy the car because I wanted to own and enjoy it. Not as an investment. If you wait for the right timing, you'll always be waiting. Just my take.
-
I agree with you, it is a better purchase, if it is a car you are going to enjoy.

It's a crap shoot on high dollar cars in my opinion. People invest in cars like that, and then they sit because the owner doesn't want it to lose value.
If you want one to drive, there are plenty of nice cars out there for less (but they won't be nice AND original). You don't have to have an all original car to enjoy it. There are some nice cars out there in the $25k to $35k range.

Is it against the rules here to say you have a nice one for sale.
-
Its best to just post the for sale thread elsewhere like the places listed above. ;)

You can always PM anyone expressing interest in finding one... :)
