Needing some help from the experts who've gone through Camaros before. I am working on changing out my dash pad in my 68 and when I pulled the gauge console to get that last elusive nut removed on the pad, I noticed these cut wires. Can anyone ID what they may have been for? The purple looks to be cut on both ends, and the yellow I can only see cut in the picture and don't know where it goes to. Possibly the radio (which someone in their infinite wisdom has seemingly taken a jack hammer to that part of the console)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are several yellow wires in the Camaro with the radio using one of them, but you're probably right - for the radio.
The purple wires are for the neutral safety switch.

Ed, thank you for the information. I'll do some digging then. My car is a 1968 with a 4speed muncie, numbers match on the tran to the camaro. I was under the impression that the neutral safety switch wasn't installed until 69. Thanks.

In that case the purple wire goes from the starter solenoid to your ignition switch, and yes, the clutch safety switch didn't start until the 1969 model year.
