Title: enging stamping
Post by: tom carroll on January 16, 2007, 10:02:26 PM
I have a 1969 Z10 camaro pace car. Recent purchase, great condition. Block casting has right casting number for 1969, but no stamped numbers by head or oil filter. Anybody run across this.
Maybe machined off, during rebuild? It is a 350 300 hp motor.

If there are no stampings at all (engine plant machine code or assembly plant VIN derivative) and you can see curved machining marks (instead of the original longitudinal broach marks), it has probably been rebuilt and was decked in the process.
