Hi guys
My 67 still where it's original canister type oil filter .
but i have a leak at the center , i think there is a gasket or a seal but i can't disassemble the lug and the housing to see why this leak.
dou you have any information to dissasemble or stop the leak.

You can get a conversion part to use the spin-on type oil filters.

I have seen a repair kit at LI Corvettes for the canisters. Probably other places sell it too.

The long bolt is a friction fit with the internal spring. Just take a hammer and a block of wood and wack it out to access the seal.

I ll prefer to keep my car period correct and let the original canister on,i ll try to remove the bolt with the hamer and a block offwood.

thanks...i notice that i have no long tube in my canister...missing????
