I just stumbled onto this Youtube video and thought it was kind of cool. Makes me wish mine was back on the road.
What do you think of his survivor, all original claims and price value?

Great car. I was hanging on every word until he said they are worth 40-50k.....that made me Laugh out LOUD. Even 10 years ago this car would have been worth more than that, especially in a desirable color like orange. Other than tires from what I could see it looked good.
I am guessing Peter must hang around over restored cars most of the time.
Another thing try finding an unrestored numbers Z in any color, it could take you 5 years before you might run across one.
I would also like to hear others perspective

I think 40-50K multiplied by 2 at least. Maybe 3? My car's nowhere close to the one shown here, and 40K won't buy mine.

Great looking car; nice video.. and Peter showed quite a bit of '69 Z28 knowledge, AND he claimed that the '69 Z28 was HIS FAVORITE muscle car of all time! :)
Re Originality: Obviously an original car; the only claims I'd want to check out more closely would be the 'unrestored' originality of the paint, carpet, etc... Even with only 27K miles, this car would have had to been stored in a vacuum almost to be as nice as that one! :)
Re Value: I agree that Peter is way off on his valuation... I think an 'original unrestored' car in this condition is worth much more than the typical *restored* car... His valuation is probably more in line with what his dealership would pay for a restored car ... needing to make 10K or so on it...

This 69 Z28 Camaro vintage dream car video segment was recorded in 2001 as part of Legendary Motorcar's Dream Car Garage TV series." 15 yrs ago?? His valuation was probably right on the money.... :)

I agree with you Gary, if it was from 2001 then i think he is in the ball park. I also agree on the paint and some of the finishes. The car presents better than Skip Lacates Z, but has close to the same milage.
The other thing I thought was interesting is he says there is no rock chips or flaws in the paint?
How do you drive 1000 miles, let alone 20k with out one rock flying up or even some large bug could chip the paint in the front?
I was listening to him describe the car and saying in my head, "yah thats similar to mine, until he said "no rock chips", NOPE, my car has plenty of those.
I hope the owner still has it. Also surprised he let him take it out for a spin, not sure he would be my "new best friend".... ;D

no. Skips car was a white stripe car no vinyl top, and has a ZL-2 hood.

I did not notice the 2001 date. His price evaluation makes much more sense now. I was also a little skeptical about the perfect paint.

I have one question about it though. At the 1:28 mark it is showing the spare tire with the jack base. I have never seen an original '69 Camaro with that base. The one I am familiar with is rectangular with straight sides and rounded corners with no slots at each end. Can anyone verify that base was used and if so, what plant and what time frame?
Does anyone know who owns this car or are they a member here?

Skip's car was purchased from original owner Gary and it was a local car all its life sold out of Emrich Chevrolet in Manchester, PA. Several members from the CRG looked at Skip's car this past November at MCACN. Paint is stellar but as aforementioned all cars with any miles have some road rash, nicks somewhere.

I am not aware of those holes in the jack stand being used on the 69 camaro. Any insight fellas?

Can't recall ever seeing that style of jack base on a '69 either, Warren. I started a thread here about jack designs a while ago (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=13242.0;all) since it was suggested to me that LOS-built cars used a different style to NOR; the limited responses supported that suggestion, but still only a tiny sample size. The base on that style of jack has a slot at one end, and a small semi-circular indentation on 3 of the 4 sides - shown on the picture on page 1 of the above-referenced thread. I've since seen that style base on other cars from the 1970's.
