Could be an honest mistake on the VIN - 123677N213490 - I sent him an email asking if he posted the right numbers.

Doesn't appear to be a mistake. This ad even stated "an original SS 396 Convertible Camaro, it is NOT a numbers matching car and was not originally a Pace Car"

Which is probably why the ebay seller never got back to me!

That may be the most purposely misleading ad I have ever seen.
"numbers correct car"
"THIS CAR WAS ON THE TRACK IN INDIANAPOLIS WITH AJ FOYT INSIDE!! "
Of course, they don't say that the year was 2007, in a pre race parade. At least the previous seller was up front about the car.
Kevin and Kip are trying to make you believe something else without actually saying something else.
Pretty low.
Sad.

I'm just curious. Would a 67 RS/SS have chrome trim around the wheel wells? I'm not seeing any on this car?

It should have and this car does have them. Look closer, the chrome trim is there.

Read both adds. One honest and one misleading. They never claim it is a Pace Car. But boy does it say everything but. A lot of Smoke and Mirrors

There is a fake 67 pace car that is said to be rebodied by the seller for sale on eBay, I know for a fact that it has a fake trim tag, it was never a pace car that has been rebodied. He Dose show the 6cyl vin.
It is a very misleading add with "numbers correct" engine.

Is this the one?

Yes it is, it has a fake trim tag, I have seen the original trim tag and talked to the guy that built it. It is just a nice car that the original builder wanted to see how close he could make it to the real thing, all the options on this car are made up and showing on the trim tag. This is a $40'000 car at best in my opinion. The add is misleading however worded to be legal I guess. This car or its trim tag was not on the track in 67 like the the add is trying to make you think. After it was built it was brought there for a resent event.

I just noticed that both of these threads were started by the same person, so I've merged them.

It did have a bit of trivia I had not heard before, '67 was the first year for Camaros at Indy. Pretty amazing fact right there.

Wow, Olathe, I just drove past there, it's an hour away from me.
