I had to replace the dash due to rot at the bottom...
I do I replicate the suede paint finish on the dash?
Is there a particular product to use?

Yes. I assume it's for a '69 Camaro? PPG offers in Duracryl DDL. Ref # DIA 9317. It is lacquer, so not easy to get. I'm not sure if there other paint types that offer the same finish.
You can try TCP Global - they maybe able to order it for you as long as you live in state where you can buy lacquer paint.

I used a black 'satin' finish spray can. It turned out very nice.

Get the PPG DDL, or mix your own, if your a painter, use lacquer. You can not get close with a rattle can. Take the time to look at some original GM cars.

I just recently ordered my suede lacquer dash top paint from TCP global for my 66 Chevelle. Was no problem to get at all. It was not any more expensive than the base coat paint that my painter was going to get from his local jobber. It has turned out great, much more factory correct and I am really glad we are using it opposed to the base coat paints.
I talked to a guy named Jimmy Chips. He is an old paint rep from back in the 70's. Great guy, very knowledgeable and friendly. My 66 is a factory red interior car and he was a great help in looking up the correct 0 gloss dark red color.

I may have try Jimmy Chips at TCP Global. They used to sell me the lacquer over the counter but about 2-3 yrs ago, they said they couldn't sell it anymore to someone with a Cali address (I live in San Diego). So I ship it to my parents in WA state and they send it back to me....

Just wanted to add that I was able to buy suede lacquer from these guys for a Chrysler I was working on:

SEM makes a textured paint as does Rustoleum in spray cans. If you experiment with the distance that you are spraying I think you can replicate the suede finish. I used it on the heater under the dash and thought it came out fine. Heater also receives the suede paint. Trying to keep my original dash paint though.

I stock SEM texture coating in quarts and gun spray it. It provides more control, and allows reducing to alter the texture. Then topcoat with the color of choice. Far more economical than lacquer at $100 per pint.

I used Krylon flat camo paint, I think it did the trick. Does not have the deep orange peel look, but next time I will get the base to the proper texture, then put the camo as finish coat.

I was able to duplicate my 67's NOR dash (using my 67 LOS as a reference) using Rustoleum 7220 textured paint. The 7220 gloss looks semi so for the dash top I used the 7220 texture sandwiched between flat paint coats (ex: black primer, 1 coat flat, 1 light coat of 7220 for texture, 1 coat flat) so as not to build up the texture thickness. Looks excellent and factory.
