Title: 1968 6K Tachometer
Post by: JKZ27 on July 13, 2016, 02:50:16 AM
Have any 6K tachs been found in anything other than solid lifter cars for 1968? Like L35's or L34's?

I don't want to go into too much detail (don't want to open a can of worms), and frankly, I honestly don't remember exactly what they were, but I BELIEVE one was an L34. I seem to remember an L78 getting a 5.5k tach too, but again, I no longer have the database to verify my recollections and I'm just going by memory.

Ok thanks Ed.  Bryon, Kurt or William?  Care to open that can?   ;D

I am with Ed. I would rather not go there. But GENERALLY if a substitution was made, the substitute would be a LOWER redline on the tach than what was called for.

I would only use the redline of the tach as a CLUE, not proof.

Check for other "indicators". http://www.camaros.org/diffs68.shtml

That's really the answer I was looking for while keeping the worms tightly sealed.
Thanks.
