Hey guys! So I located a Muncie for the 68 ss350 I'm restoring and I recieved all of these numbers from the gentleman that has the trans.
P8E09-date stamp
3925660-main case number
28P313836-vin stamp number?
3884865-side cover number
93329-tag number on side cover bolt
3915401D-hurst shifter competition shifter base.
Two questions... Can I get the hurst 68 camaro linkage rods and shifter handle to work with this base mechanism? Also the tag number. i can't seem to find any info on the 5 digit tag number. Anyone know what the 93329 decodes?

It's a Muncie M20 from a 1968 Pontiac GTO assembled at the Pontiac, MI plant. The transmission was assembled on May 9th, 1968. The tag number is actually 9793329 but the mounting bolt probably obscures the 97.

Check what side the speedo gear is coming out. I have one coded for a 68 Pontiac that comes out of the drivers side. Camaros come out the passenger side.

The transmission posted most likely has the 3846429 casting number tail housing - with drivers side speedometer.
First generation Camaros used the 3857584 tail housing - with the passenger side speedometer.
This is not a big issue, it will still work fine.

This trans actually fell through so I sourced another one. Better shape and cheaper!
