1st - welcome
2nd - creating a thread and asking a question is fine but making multiple posts in different threads is a little much
3rd - Could the car be a Z?  Maybe but that tag isnt gonna be the smokin' gun..

What other evidence do you have that it is a Z/28?

Original DZ motor stamp? original paperwork? protect-plate?

(Bentley sent you another PM)

I'm not a tag "expert", but my opinion is that it's a very bad fake tag. There's a lot going on there...

Yes maybe but my opinion is

If someone try to fake a Cowl Tag but he know that no X codes is made in Van Nuys why he put an X code on a Van Nuys VN fake Cowl Tag

Ok so again what other evidence do you have that its is an original Z

Does it have the original born with 302??

Thats probably the biggest thing. If it doesn't than this thread is more academic....

Not specific to Z/28. You have the rear plate on the drivers side to mount the exhaust pipe but SS had that, and somebody could have added that.

Since you do not have the original cowl tag, the only saving grace would be the original motor, which I am guessing it doesn't have....?

I remember when this car was for sale a few months ago.
No docs that I recall and the tag is clearly not original.

Please post on one topic only in one thread. I've wasted a bit of time cleaning up all your posts.

LA built Camaros have a chassi broadcast sheet glued to the top left corner of the gas tank, if the tank is original and the sheet is still there and legible, that's about youre best bet for figuring out what the car was originally, the Tag and the Vin isn't going to tell you what you want to know.
