So I'm the proud new owner of a 1967 camaro and trying relearn many of the things I've forgotten. I had just cleaned off some gunk off the carburetor and the car was ideling in the driveway and shut off. When trying to restart, it turns over, but no spark. Looking for help to diagnosis if this might be a simple new ignition switch repair of any other suggestion. There is gas in the car and visible in the gas filter, so not thinking it's a fuel pump. Weird that it's running fine, then poof. Any suggestions will help and give me something to do this weekend.

How did you clean the carb? Did any spray or water get into distributor? Check for 12 volts on + side of coil with switch on?

You say your turning the car over but no spark, but then your saying there is gas in the filter. So did you actually check to see the spark plugs firing? when you flip the throttle do you actually see gas coming out of the squirters?
