Ron post the information in the 1969 - Orphans section. Would be good to include pics of the stamped information on the block and transmission.

Welcome Ron. Just curious what that drivetrain is in? 35 Years ago, one of my close car buddies bought a DZ engine w/ matching trans. and put it in a 68RS Camaro. He lived in N.Ky.

Do you know if the car was wrecked or how it was obtained to place in the 55? I ask that as that is where the real value is so if there was a chance I'd be trying to find the original car. We purchased a 67 Corvette in 1983 with a DZ short block in it and found the 69Z it came out of in 2008. In 1983 also purchased a 67 Corvette HE 327-300 hp motor that needed rebuilt and owner found me due to being on NCRS orphan list. That engine is with car now also for display. Good luck!

Neat, I have a 66 HE 327 here with it's matching 4 speed all in one piece and running perfect.  My father bought it back in 72 with low miles and never put it in anything that he drove.  So basically the last 44 years it's just started once in a while.

Always cool to hear this stories reuniting old engines with cars.

The car it came out of was hit hard in the rear by a truck , my buddy bought the drivetrain out of it for $125.00 . So I'm sure the car went to the crusher after that. Bummer

I would be willing to let you double your money😀 $250 would come in handy, wouldn't it?

Ron if you can post pics of the engine pad and transmission stampings. Then I will move this thread over to the orphans section.

What are the dates on the block and trans assembly?
