Title: Silk Screen on bottom of cowl air cleaner lid???
Post by: DCAM on May 05, 2016, 11:07:22 AM
I have a factory cowl hood and air cleaner car. It has a chrome lid which I believe is incorrect. I'm looking for a black top. There is a sticker on the side of the lower base stating do use AC filters. Would a factory installed top still have the silk screen like flat hood chrome top does?

I don't believe the cowl induction AC cover had the silk screen underneath the top; mine does not have it or any residue that I've seen.

GM only needed the silk screen if the decal was not able to be applied as in the open element air cleaners.

Welcome to the site!

When you get a chance start a new post with some details about your car.

We all love seeing pics. An original cowl hooded car can be somewhat of a rarity these days. I would be curious what your hood is dated, in comparison to your cars build date
Thanks

Curved silk screen or straight?
