Title: Trunk or counter?
Post by: bc69 on May 02, 2016, 10:05:50 PM
I am looking for a thread that involved what I thought was a old GM Employee clearing up the old wife's tale of the crossram and the headers for the Z's. I thought there was even a letter or memo that was also posted to verify the fact that they were all over counter orders and not sent in a trunk of new car if the option was ordered.
Can anybody help me here?

Which year are you talking about?

Headers and cowl plenum were available as factory options in 67 and 68 (although both were most likely removed as options before the end of the 68 model year). They were in the trunk when the car arrived at the original dealership, if ordered.  Both are rare. Some dealerships would not install them though, so that was then up to the owner.  Headers not available as a factory option in 69.

Cross ram was not on any 67 68 or 69 Camaros from the factory.

This is also addressed in Jerry's books.
