Hey guys, I ran across this ad on eBay. Looks to be an original Glacier blue 69 Z, and it appears to have the original drive train.
it is a 06A car, and has the U16 tach and center fuel gage (no console).
I don't see many numbers matching project Z cars these days, so I thought I would post a link in case someone is looking.
Maybe Kurt can verify the DZ block stamp looks ok. He also posts a pic of the Vin stamp, which is nice for a eBay auction to show.

Nice car and looks to be pretty complete, not sure about the starting bid...seems a little high for a car that needs a resto, he just re-listed this Z, started at $38K and dropped to $37,500 now $35K first bid. I really like this one, don't see too many Glacier Blue Z's around. All the stampings and TT look legit.

stampings look very good to me also; I'd put $$ on the DZ stamping being original factory stamp. This might be a good car for someone wanting an original Z28 that didn't mind doing, and had capability of doing quality metal work. The 'bad issues' visible in the photos (to me)were the heavy rust pits on the heavy metal underneath the car (subframe, etc) and even on the firewall under/around the cowl tag. Could be restored to be a very nice car I suspect by the *right person*... like maybe a Sauron? :)

Looks good. But it sounds rusty. Duct tape on the rockers is not a good sign...

I thought a late car like that came with a U17 as part of the Z/28 option?

Nope. Tach was required, not gauges.

I would want to check it over in person first. Rust might be more extensive than shown. I wouldn't be scared off at this point, but would think the price is still too high.

Bryon you are correct about the rusty areas, I spoke to the seller (nice guy and seemed honest) and he sent me more photos of the underside and dash area, this car will be a full restoration project. Not sure someone can just buy the car, install the original 302 and be done...no doubt there will be metal repair and likely panel replacement including rear frame rail work. IMO this car is the real deal and a rare color combo, the buyer would have to decide does that out way the work required to bring this one back to life. The current engine in the car is a 383 stroker block, seller does not know why the engine was changed out nor does he know for sure the original engine is still good...said no rods were hanging out so I guess that might be a good sign....

Since the original engine is out of the car, this should be easy to check by pulling the oil pan.

Those are definitely 302 pistons sticking out of that block in the pic. Sounds like a big project, but if someone is interested in an original resto, and wants to have the all the original drive train, there might not be too many like this around to choose from. Looks like the original master cylinder to me as well. If it's about making a buck, then probably not the right project at the current price.
