Title: panel adhesive
Post by: jvb6648 on April 23, 2016, 05:44:04 AM
I've never used a panel adhesive and want to use it on the dash panel to cowl on my '68. Would 50ml be enough?

Maybe I should rephrase this and ask if anyone knows how long of a bead will a 50ml tube of Lord Fusor put down?

50 ml. of panel bond, I really don't know how much that is in volume but its easy to use and to use it properly grind the metal with a roloc disc, lay some panel bond on each piece to be joined, cover the bare steel with the panel bond using a spreader then on the vehicle side lay yet another bead of panel bond down and join together. Once joined clamp it all together but if you need to make an adjustment slide the panels, DO NOT lift them, clean up the excess and follow cure times.

If that length is all you are doing, then that quantity will suffice. I buy SEM general purpose 7 fl oz /207 ml, which will do a roof skin. A part number for the Fusor product you chose would be helpful.

The Lord Fusor numbers are 108B for the 7.6 oz / 225ml and 109B for the 1.7 oz / 50ml. The are medium acting which should give me enough time to set the panel and clamp it.
