There is no bolt?

unh uh, nope, nada. If you look close along the bottom straight side, there are two tangs that , like a spring loaded effect, snap into that hole...ain't Chevy smart?

Ok cool thanks.

If l knew how to put up a picture l would show my retainer. Doesn't have that at all

I would look for a good used on, plenty out there, when installed correctly they are very tight, hammer and dolly as needed. Same tabs as the sppedo clips.

Sounds like the heater hose retainer that bolts to the top of the Alternator (for 69s). Its a small "recessed head" bolt that fits into the threaded hole on top of the bracket.

That fastener that holds the hose retainer on the alternator, does anyone have the GM number or AMK? Or a detailed picture? Thanks.

Not all cars had the bracket by the alternator if your car is original see if the bracket hole has threads for a bolt

Even though it's not in the AIM (inadvertently left out), all 1969 Camaro V8 cars got this bracket. However, that being said, you can still see it in the AIM under UPC C60, Sheet D7, items number 9 for the "Clip" (P/N 3825416) and 8 for the "screw" (P/N 9420152). The specs for the screw is 1/4-20 x 1/2" and a good picture of it is in THIS THREAD (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=1482.0).
